What do you want me to do for you?
A blind man named Bartimaeus, in Mark 10, cries out to Jesus. Jesus turns to him and asks him a very direct question "What do you want me to do for you?" (Mark 10:51 )
What would your reply be to this question? Perhaps you have, like the blind man, a very specific need that you want Jesus to answer. But Jesus' question may also make you think for a while before you answer.
Bartimaeus knew enough about Jesus to call out and bring his needs to Jesus. Jesus knew the needs of Bartimaeus. Do you know enough about Jesus to believe and trust His with your needs? He knows your needs too. "For the Lord sees every heart and understands and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him." 1 Chronicles 28:9
Isaiah 65:24 says "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." Bartimaeus called out and Jesus answered. Jesus will answer us too. He may answer in the way we expect, He may answer in a way we don't expect or we may have to wait for His answer. (Psalm 40:1 ) But, He will answer.
The result: Bartimaeus followed Jesus.
